One question that is always asked over and over at Internet marketing conferences are opt-in lists really necessary to succeed. This questions has a two part answer and many people don't realize that. No you don't have to start an opt-in list, but I will tell you it will take you a lot longer to make it in Internet Marketing. Let's see why that is.
Opt-in lists are lists of people who may receive a newsletter from you or bought an e-book in the past. These are people who are already warm to whatever you are trying to sell. This means their more receptive to whatever you are offering them. It makes sense that you would buy from someone who has treated you well than from someone who you have never dealt with before. This is the value of the opt-in list. It doesn't end their though as it has other very distinctive advantages.
If your introducing new products the easiest way to get feedback is from your opt-in lists. Maybe the product isn't exactly what people are looking for, but using an opt-in list for testing the product out will save you tons of money. This way you can make changes to the product until it's perfect than you can release it to the public and turn even more profit. Internet marketing is about making relationships and what you do with them. People love working with people who actually help them and not hurt them. One good rule to remember is your opt-in list is gold.
Other ways the opt-in list can help you in determining what works for you and what doesn't. many times different opt-in lists only like certain products. By finding out what they like you will be able to separate the lists and market them the products they want. Opt-in lists take time to build and many people don't like taking the time to build their list. People get frustrated with Internet Marketing and opt-in lists because of the length of time they tend to take. The people who do take the time to make opt-in lists part of their Internet Marketing are usually the ones who are doing well in making money online.
The thing that people must learn about opt-in lists is they will be the heart of their Internet business for many years to come. People think that you don't need an opt-in lists because people don't buy from them. In fact the opposite is true as people do buy from these lists and are more likely to buy from you in the future. If you do only one thing to build your Internet business than an opt-in lists should be it. As more and more people learn what opt-in lists are all about than these type of questions will never come up again. If your into Internet Marketing than you know how important opt-in lists are.
